Pay in instalments with Alma

Would you like to book flights or purchase extra options and pay in instalments? For amounts between EUR 150 and EUR 4000, you can choose Alma as a payment method.

How Alma works

When making a purchase on KLM.fr, you can choose Alma as your payment method. On the day of booking, you make a mandatory down payment.

You then pay 2- or three-monthly instalments, each corresponding to one-third or one-quarter of the order amount. Those are debited 30 and 60 days later for 3 instalments and 30, 60, and 90 days later for 4 instalments. These monthly instalments include fees of 1.65% of the total order amount for 3 and 2.47% for 4.

Choose Alma on klm.fr

  1. After completing your order on klm.fr, select "pay in instalments with Alma" as your payment method and click or tap "finalise payment."
  2. You will be redirected to our partner Alma’s page. Here, you will see a detailed summary of your order and a personalised financing request. Please validate the summary and request.
  3. Enter your details or log in with your Alma account credentials. Review, read, print, and save the general terms and conditions for Alma's instalment payment before accepting them.
  4. Click or tap the "Pay [order amount]" button to accept Alma’s general terms and conditions, and you’re all set!

Example of a 3-installment payment

Suppose you book a ticket for EUR 400. The costs of this scheme are EUR 6.6 (fixed APR of 1.65%). In total, you will pay EUR 406.6:

  • This means that, upon booking, you make a down payment of EUR 106.6
  • You pay 1 monthly instalment of EUR 100
  • You pay another 1 monthly instalment of EUR 100

Example of a 4-installment payment

Suppose you book a ticket for EUR 400. The costs of this scheme are EUR 9.9 (fixed APR of 2.47%). In total, you will pay EUR 409.9:

  • This means that, upon booking, you make a down payment of EUR 109.9
  • You pay 1 monthly instalment of EUR 100
  • You pay another 1 monthly instalment of EUR 100
  • You pay the last 1 monthly instalment of EUR 100

Good to know

This payment method is available:

  • If you reside in mainland France or the overseas departments and territories;
  • If you have a bank card such as a Carte Bleue, Visa, or Mastercard issued by a French institution with a validity date later than the chosen financing period. Cards with systematic authorisation (Electron, Maestro, Nickel, etc.), e-cards, Indigo cards, and American Express are not accepted;
  • If the period between the date of booking the travel ticket and the trip's start date is more than 7 days.

Alma is compatible with a promotional code. The value of the code will then be deducted from the amount transmitted to Alma via Adyen.

Alma reserves the right to accept or refuse your financing request. Unless proven otherwise, the data recorded by Alma constitutes proof of all transactions carried out between you and Alma.

Conditions

Withdrawal Period

For payment in 3 or 4 instalments by bank card with Alma, you have a legal withdrawal period of 14 calendar days from accepting the general terms and conditions. If you cancel your credit, the transportation service will be due to KLM, and you must contact our partner, Alma, directly. You will then need to settle your travel file directly with KLM according to the terms stipulated in KLM's general terms of sale. If you modify the transportation service at your initiative, you must pay any additional fees directly to KLM and its external service providers. The remaining instalments will continue to be debited on the initially scheduled due dates.

Cancellation

If KLM cancels your complete journey, the credit will be cancelled. Alma will refund all the amounts received according to the general terms of sale and KLM's refund policies.

If KLM cancels part of your journey, the credit will either be adjusted to reflect the new ticket amount or cancelled. The interest accrued up to the date of partial cancellation will remain due. The new amount will be recalculated, and the latest credit terms will be communicated via e-mail.

Payment Dispute

If the payment of part or all the amounts due to KLM is rejected, defaulted, or disputed after the ticket has been issued, the ticket will be automatically cancelled, and the customer will not be able to board. KLM reserves the right to take legal action against the customer who fraudulently acquired their ticket.

KLM offers its customers Alma's credit service for the payment of their purchases and the execution of the payment. This is subject to the customer's acceptance of Alma's terms of use (CGU) or the proposed credit agreement.

Any refusal of credit by Alma for an order may result in the cancellation of that order.

Any termination of the general terms and conditions (CGV) that bind the customer and KLM results in the termination of the CGU or the credit agreement between Alma and the customer.

Alma allows payment in 3 or 4 instalments. Alma and its providers ensure the security of payments, which are protected by 3D Secure.

Alma is a tele-payment manager and issues an electronic certificate that will serve as proof of the amount and the transaction date by the provisions of Articles 1316 and following the Civil Code.
